Which I'm A Celebrity Contestants Have Gained The Most Instagram Followers
"I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here", now in it's 24th series, returned this month, with a new group of celebrities entering the Australian Jungle. Among the headline names were Coleen Rooney, GK Barry, Tulisa Contostavlos, and "surprise" late entrant to camp, Maura Higgins.
While celebrities taking part in the show will cite various reasons for choosing to enter the Jungle, there's no doubt that one of the primary goals is to boost their fame, and/or their public image. One way of measuring that goal is by analysing each celebrity's following on Instagram.
Therefore, we've decided to track how each contestant's Instagram following has grown over the course of the series.
Each day we've tracked how many new followers each celebrity has gained, and by what percentage they have grown their following by since the start of the series. At the end of the series, we will also reveal how much the cost of a sponsored post from each celebrity has increased by as a result of their time on the popular Reality TV show.
GK Barry has earned the most new Instagram followers on I'm A Celebrity... 2024
With the first week of the 2024 series now in the bags, we can reveal that GK Barry leads the way with 79,653 new followers in the first week of the show, bringing her total following to 961,531.
In second place is Wagatha Christie herself, Coleen Rooney. Coleen has earned 55,074 new followers since the start of the series, taking her total following on the photo sharing app to 1,056,144.
Narrowly behind Coleen in third place is Tulisa Contostavlos. The N-Dubz singer has grown her following from 650,688 to 704,972, an increase of 54,304.
In fourth spot is former Love Island contestant Maura Higgins. Despite having 3.8m followers to start with, the most of any contestant, and being a late entrant into camp, she has managed to gain 49,559 new followers so far.
Taking the final spot in the top five is Dean McCullough. Dean had one of the smallest followings at the start of the show with just 38,648. That has no doubt contributed towards him having the fifth largest gain, with 37,068 new followers.

Barry McGuigan's Instagram following has grown by 671%
The celebrity that has increased their Instagram following by the largest percentage so far is former Boxer, Barry McGuigan, with a gain of 671%. Before the show, Barry only had a small following of 1,767, which is why it's not a huge surprise to see his audience grow by such a large percentage as a result of being on the show.
Dean McCullough has also seen a massive growth in percentage terms, again largely due to not having a large following going into the Jungle. Dean's followers have grown by 96% from 38,648 to 75,716.
Of the celebrities that entered the Jungle with at least 100,000 followers, Melvin Odoom has grown his audience by the largest percentage. His audience has grown by 10% after the first week of the show, going from 123,895 to 136,148.
